Late 4th-early 5th centuries. Weight of 12 Scripula or 12 Grammata (Bronze, 19x19 mm, 12.83 g), a uniface square coin or commercial weight with plain edges. Three ornamented arches, two curved, one pointed, supported by four columns; underneath the curved arches, two draped facing imperial busts; underneath the pointed arch, Victory standing facing; all on a raised tabled within linear frame; below, engraved I B. Rev. Blank. Bendall -. CPAI -. MAH -. Pondera -, cf. 7889 (three facing imperial figures on a silver cliché soldered onto a weight of 3 ounkia). A very rare and unusual piece. Good very fine.
